More of a discussion question then one that I think there is an answer to:

The Book of Abraham records that Egypt was founded by the Canaanites who were descendants of Ham, Noah's son. And Pharaoh in particular was descendant of Ham. It is traditionally held (although not in cannon that I can find, if it's there please point it out for me) that Ham's wife was Black, and this is supported by the Nubian Influence in Egypt that moved to the rest of Africa.

Joseph of technicolor dream coat fame was only a 3rd generation descendant of Abraham, and he married an Egyptian wife given to him by Pharaoh.

Is there enough evidence to suggest that Joseph's wife might have been Black? And what repercussions would that have?

Is there a way when I download recent transactions I can define the time period I want downloaded?

I am not familiar with this term but I've seen it thrown around a lot and I wonder if I don't believe in something similar with different wording.

So without the use of this word I'm going to ask an old question.

There are two ideas that Christians generally subscribe to regarding the character of God.

Idea 1: The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are the same people.

Idea 2: The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are separate individuals but they have the same powers and perfections and so they are all God.

To your knowledge which religions falls in each category.

What do the (insert Catholic, Mormon, Lutheran, Baptist, Pentecostal, JW, Born Again, whatever...) believe? Idea 1 or 2? or something different.

Wow last question stirred up a hornets nest I didn't expect and a lot of interesting answers.

Follow up Question

What level of exact obedience to the teachings of Christ does a person have to have to be considered a Christian? Do they have to already be dead and saved in the Kingdom of God, or is being a living Saint good enough, or am I allowed to make a few mistakes and still claim to be Christian? How far down that slippery path can I go? Can I ignore one doctrine, ten, all of them?

I'm not asking for a line in the sand that says how many bad things can I do and still go to heaven, I'm asking where the line is between the labels Christian and Heathen?

Not a JW myself and even being against their particular doctrines regarding Jehovah, I have to ask.

If the JWs say they are Christian, and you saying they are not makes them not Christian, doesn't that mean that you a non-JW with no authority in their sect is determining JW doctrine?

With the same amount of authority could I not also say that even though I am not Catholic, Catholics are not Christians even though they believe they are? And Lutherans, and Mormons, and Born Again Christians, and Baptists, and Methodists, and Pentecostals, and 7th Day Adventists, and any other religious group I would like to offend at the time?

By what right does a member of any particular sect define the doctrines of other sects they are not members of?

Do more people go to Church on Christmas if Christmas falls on a Sunday as opposed to any other day?

Why is it that everyone thinks these guys are so pushy, I respect their decision to go tracting, I emphasize with them (tracting is hard been there done that.) And I'm not interested in their religion.

That's all it takes is to say I'm not interested and be sure about yourself and they're off to the next door. There are people out there who are interested and they would like to spend their time finding them, yet I've read lots of complaints about missionaries (of many different faiths) tracting. Why is this practice seen as pushy? Or are they just so polite because they know they're tracting a mostly Mormon community?

it seems that Cult is described in three main ways.

1 A religion

2 A religion that is not my religion

3 a religion that believes in human sacrifice like those crazy people in Indiana Jones and the temple of doom

With these definitions in mind. Should I be concerned if I'm told my religion is a cult, or should I just chalk it up to juvenile name calling?

I've seen a lot of people throwing this word around, what is meant when we refer to a religion as a cult.

The pharases brought a woman accused of adultery to Christ to be juged and He told them "let he who is without sin cast the first stone", and her accusers left.

In an earlier question it was suggested that Christ meant by this "let he who has not slept with her cast the first stone"
