Yes the mind will always be a slave to the heart, nicely put.
Our mind may say whatever it wishs, but the heart will often be slow to listen or care what it has to say. As Einstein said the intuitive mind is a gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant.Reason has no power against feeling.

This question has been in dispute for many years in the field of psychology studying Emotions.
One group says that the brain controls body processes and reactions and later interprets it as emotions.
Another group says that emotions are felt first and then tell the brain to cause reactions to the body.
Its tough because there is evidence of both.
There are people with no substantial brain damage, but they have little or no emotion at all, called Flat Affect disorder, and other related disorders.
There are also people with paralysing brain damage, called Locked-in Syndrome, where the whole body is permanently paralyzed except the eyes. All output from the brain to the body is cut off, except for a few strands of muscles to the eyes. These patients can learn to 'talk' by learning an eye blink code, and they do report feeling some emotions, and also they do cry at times.
Proud of being a complex human, i'd answer that both emotions and the brain work hand in hand, each influencing each other so that we can function properly as a social being on earth

No, my brain is definitely the master. When you have to do the tough love thing, it has to be. The heart is too tender and can lead you down paths you know are not a good idea to follow, your brain will save you. Boring, I know but I'm sane.

no considering a brain does all the real thinking. the part of your brain that sends of the signals of love can decept the critical thinking part of your brain to do things that are unreasonable and dangerous. love can really mess a persons life up. but in the end all thinking comes from the brain. just saying i love you with all my heart sounds better.
