Are we the end of the world?

Its a real shame we have caused global warming and nothing much seems to be done about it, i watched planet earth the documentary, its a Documentary made by a few British people that go around the world filming animals, its awesome, watch a bit of it on youtube, you'll want to buy it after hehe. But on the last DVD on the disk set it talks about how endangered they are because of us humans hunting them and causing climate change or destroying there natural habitat for food. Its really sad, Something has to be done now before its too late,

It seems all that matters to the leaders is money, but they should know they rely on some creatures (like bees) to pollinate one third of our crops, even they are dieing out, which will make us lose out on a lot of money, so the government is going to have to do something.

The more i learn about the worlds animals, the more i learn about how much we have killed and pushed to close extinction, its very very sad. :[

There are many things you've said that I disagree with. We're not the strongest animal by far, chimps have ten times the strength of a grown man twice their size, ants can lift 10 times their body weight and so on. The natural disasters are not as strong or as frequent as they have been in our own recorded history, let alone in the history of Earth. Every animal tries to change it's natural habitat to it's advantage, humans are just more successful at this on a large scale than any other animal.

If the Earth has a spirit named Gaea or something else, all it has to do is launch a new microbe at us. We're long overdue for an epidemic/pandemic and surely Mother Nature would rather just target us than kill billions of animals thru climate change.

Just because I don't believe in man-made global warming or that it would pose a threat if it did exist, that doesn't mean I don't value nature and the flora and fauna in it. I recycle and reuse things, I have a big carbon footprint compared to the average person in China but tiny compared to Al Gore.

Global warming is not happening, it's been cooling since 2003 according to NASA satellite measurements and we're likely to see decades of more cooling, possibly another Little Ice Age. That my friend is the 'natural' state of the Earth, for most of the past few million years it's been covered by ice, then the glaciers retreat for a few thousand years before coming back again and again. The interglacials are short breaks during the ongoing ice age and no amount of a trace gas like CO2 will change that when the Earth next freezes.

Just for the global warming part, warming is real but its not an issue. Warming was already proven to happen every 1500 years and it never gets out of hand. The Romans also thought warming was the end of the world...

Also, it wouldn't matter how much warming expands because 6 million years ago the CO2 levels were 6 times higher than they are now, and it resulted in 1.5 degrees F change... Woo. That's pretty hot.

As for any other natural disaster, we are more capable than the dinosaurs. meteorites wont kills us because we now have solar powered satellites that can project ion waves powerful enough to change their course dramatically. Volcanoes don't have the power they did millions of years ago, and many of those that might have killed dinosaurs are dormant now. Hurricanes haven't stopped us yet, certainly wouldn't be able to wipe out human existence (Hurricanes are arising from the global warming cycle that occurs every 1500 years, when warming stops and goes into the cooling stage the hurricanes will cease) earthquakes are far to predictable to cause damage enough for extinction, new technology predicts tectonic plate movements and signals long before one buckles.

Lets face it, don't worry human technology pwns nature ;)

Don't worry about nature, the most deadly thing to humans, is other humans. Whether it be wars, drugs, genocide, disease, etc humans will go extinct by our own hands. Hope I clarified whatever be needed.

first things first. anything and everything can be made into a profit. no matter what it is. and as soon as one thing dies; someone will be ther to make sure it doesn't. lets take carbon gas as an example since you're concerned about global warming. if we got rid of all current electical means, and when straight to solar power (which we can n the span of only five years) peolple who have stocks in midamerican would see there stocks plumit and the company would go bankrupt. and on top of that america would have another problem on their hands. theres too much money in be unethical. you take away one leg and the table falls. the government knows that. which is why we don't drive hydrogen powered car; even so we could of been more then five years ago. theres too much money in oil. and on top of that we own saudi arbia. so we have to continue buying oil from them. everything is set in stone. money makes the world go round. and if there is something... anything... theres a profit to be made. and as companys get bigger and bigger, they continue to want a slice of thier pie. so no matter what. things will continue to be the way they are because someone is getting paid to keep it that way. sorry to depress you, but yeah we would be better off being animals looking for our own food; unaware of the metor about to hit the earth.
