can you hide channels from the guide channel screen that you dont have?

Are you really foolish enough to think there is only 1 channel guide and we all have the same one?

The TimeWarner box I used to have 'punishes' you by showing you every channel they carry, but they do not flag the ones you actually subscribe to. Some evil executive probably thinks this will encourage you to buy a higher package by showing you everything. There is no way to customize the guide list.

My Dish vip722 receiver lets me see just the channels I subscribe to, just the HD channels I subscribe to, or I can create 3 custom lists with just my favorite channels. The 722 receiver won "Sat receiver of the year" when it came out.

Dish has it's issues, but it's equipment tends to be better than any Cable or the DirectTV gear. (at least since DirectTV stopped offering Tivo box's).
